Strictly's Erin Boag reveals the real reason she's not on this year's show.

I can't keep it covered up any longer... There's been much speculation about my absence from this year's Strictly Come Dancing, but I can now reveal the real reason why I turned down appearing on this year's show... Yes, I'm truly excited and delighted to say… I'm pregnant!

My husband Peter and I are expecting the arrival of our first child in the spring of next year. It's such a relief to be able to tell all, as it's been 'strictly mum's the word' these past few months! Another reason for being so quiet is that I have been battling with terrible morning sickness – I don't know why it's called "morning" sickness as I had it morning, noon and night!!!

My career is such an important part of my life, however with ten series of Strictly under my belt, it just felt the right time.

Before baby arrives, amongst other things, Anton and I will be performing at the Royal Albert Hall this Christmas with 'Anton & Erin's Christmas Cracker' (I'm sure those gorgeous gowns might need a bit of letting-out by then!).

As some of you will know, Anton and I have been fortunate to perform our sell-out UK tours for the past five years but for obvious reasons I won't be able to perform this time - though I will be helping Anton prepare for, and supporting him on his solo tour which launches early next year.

And after baby's born?... I'll be back dancing just as soon as my body and fitness allows! Anton and I already have bookings in place for next year, and I'm particularly delighted to say we're planning a big come-back tour for 2015! So there's plenty to look forward to, as you all now know – especially the pitter-patter of tiny feet too.

Be sure to keep up with my news on my personal blog and by following me on twitter!

Lots of love,

Series eleven of 'Strictly' has already burst onto our screens with a cracking Red Carpet Celebrity reveal show. And if that tantalising warm-up for this season's show is anything to go by, it's going to be unmissable viewing!

As I'm sure you'll already know, the very lovely Erin isn't joining us on the show this year. After ten series she has declined the BBC's offer to appear once again and will, I'm sure, be sadly missed by all - especially me ...However we do hope she'll be putting in an appearance at some point!  Read more here.

So, back to the task ahead: this year I'm delighted to say I have the really rather super Fiona Fullerton as my celebrity dance partner.

Anton and Fiona

With the show just about to start we have already been hard at work rehearsing, and I couldn't be happier with Fiona's progress. I'd go as far as to say she is shaping up rather nicely! This of course is helped somewhat by new name for me (Mr Wonderful!)... plus a lot of hard work and tea!

Breaking for tea

I may have to raise my voice though as I had said 1,2,3,4... not 1,2,3, floor!

After the dance

Anyway, there is still much to do. So all that's left to say is that I hope you'll join us each week! Please keep up with the much appreciated support, and keeeeep voting!

I hope you have have fun and enjoy the new series, we certainly intend too!

Lots of love,

After ten wonderful years, and with a truly heavy heart, I have decided to decline the BBC's very kind offer to compete again in series eleven, and have withdrawn from being a competitive dancer on Strictly Come Dancing.

It's been a very hard decision to make, but it's time for a change and to focus my attention on new challenges. That said, it's not necessarily farewell to Strictly, as I do hope to continue being a part of the show.

With this change in mind, it's a timely opportunity to look back over the last ten series. I feel so privileged to have been involved with the show since it began almost a decade ago when both Anton and I were invited by the BBC to dance in the very first series. It's amazing to be part of something so very special - a global phenomenon! - that not only brought ballroom dancing back into favour, but also onto prime-time television, capturing the hearts and imaginations of viewers - and encouraging people to enjoy dance, too!

It's been so much fun making new friends, meeting wonderful people, and of course being partnered with such lovely celebrities year after year. I'm going to miss spending so much time with my amazing fellow professional dancers - it's true what they say, Strictly really is just like a great big family! From its inspirational producers; the dedicated crew who work so tirelessly behind the scenes; the costume, hair and make-up teams who've made me look so fabulous every week, and of course the wonderful Strictly house band of musicians and singers who never miss a beat, everybody continually works so very hard to push the boundaries and make each series bigger, better and more spectacular!

Strictly wouldn't be Strictly without you, the fans, and I can't thank you enough for all the encouragement and support you've given me and my celebrity partners over the past ten series - you've made this wonderful journey all the more magical.

With so many incredible moments and happy memories it's hard to pick my favourites, and it would be impossible to choose between my wonderful partners... so I'm simply going to leave you with some pro-dance highlights where Anton and I were lucky enough to perform alongside world class artistes. Enjoy!

I'm certainly not hanging up my dancing shoes and retiring from the ballroom... far from it! I'm going to be doing more television work, choreography and teaching (news on that to follow!), and Anton and I will still be performing at shows and events across the country as usual... keep an eye on our websites and twitter for all the latest!

So, it's ciao for now, but in the words of Brucie himself... Keeeeeeeeep dancing!!

Lots of love,

It's hard to believe, but this will be our tenth series on Strictly Come Dancing. The show has been an enormous part of both our lives since it burst onto television screens back in 2004, and it just gets better and better. This year sees a sensational line up, and in terms of the pairings – and to coin a Brucie phrase – 'didn't they do well!'

Jerry Hall and Richard Arnold are our celebrity partners for 2012, and we're hoping for great things, not least the possibility of holding that glitter ball up in the air at the finals! So Jerry and Richard take note, we've got high hopes for you both!

We're also excited to welcome Darcey Bussell to the judges' panel — she will be a great addition to the show...  let's hope she's going to be kind with us!

So as the whirlwind starts yet again, the coming weeks will fly by: working our celebrity dance partners as hard as we can, rehearsing for those fabulous group dances, costume fittings and numerous interviews and television appearances… It's Strictly time, and we absolutely love it!

Anton and Erin

Be sure to keep a step ahead by following us both on twitter (@theAntonDuBeke & @ErinBoag), where you'll get all the gossip and action as it happens. And keep tabs on our progress via our Brucie-inspired 'Play Your Cards Right' Strictly scorecards – we'll keep them updated with the scores and video clips of all our dances from each show so you can watch them over and over again.

So, we're off to polish our shoes, slip on our sequins... and prepare for a showstopper of a series! Until next time, keeeeep dancing!

Lots of love,

Anton & Erin
